Galettes and Crepes at Kitchenette

Hello Lovebirds! It’s Valentine’s Day and we can’t wait to spread the love. We’re spending out Valentine’s Day at Kitchenette Restaurant & Crêperie with the ultimate pair of Galettes and Crepes.

Please join our date.

But before we go any further, let’s take a 5-minutes crash course on the food. Just in case your date asks for recommendation. Galette, flat round or free form crusty cakes made with buckwheat flour, is more on the savory side. The ones arrived on our table bears the name of (arguably) handsome European guys: Antoine, Nicholas and Sebastien.

Antoine is Ham, Mozzarella, Mushroom Caviar, Egg and Truffle Oil. This dish can use more Truffle oil. Nicholas is for the meat lovers. The Galette is filled wih sausages, chorizo, egg, ham (choice of turkey and pork), mozzarella & Dijon mayo. Plenty of meat, great if you need extra protein in your diet. Turkey is delicious. Sebastien is a comfortable brunch of Chicken Breast, Egg, Tomatoes, Mozzarella, Sauteed Mushroom, Pumpkin and Dijon Mayo on one plate.

Moving on to Crepes. Crepe is a very thin pancake made of wheat flour. Galette is actually a type of crepe. But if you say “Crepe” the first thing that comes to mind is the sweet kind. There are three crepes that arrived on the table: Amelie, Marie Lou and Indah.

Amelie is Fresh Orange, Caramelized Almond,Chocolate Sauce, Caramel & Vanilla Ice Cream. A balanced taste between sweet and sour. Marie Lou brings the fun with Whole Banana, Chocolate Hazelnut Spread, Grated Cheese, Vanilla Cream and Chocolate Ice Cream. Indah, staying true to its name is an Indonesian-inspired crepe, featuring Es Teler inspired Crepe with Jack Fruit, Dried Coconut, Avocado, Grass Jelly, Pink Tapioca, Pandan Cream & Coconut Ice Cream. She’s the latest addition to the Kitchenette menu.

But what can beat your own, handmade crepe? So, in the end, there’s this Nutella Crepes that represent you. Fiona create a galette – crepe fusion instead. So, the best toppings so far is oreo, banana, vanilla ice cream.. and finish with almond.

If you’re here with your other half, enjoy the buy 1 get 1 crepe and galette all day!
