It's Christmas Summer at Outback Steakhouse

It's the end of the year and we have a lot of celebrations in line. In a few days we'll be celebrating Christmas with the whole family, sharing table and warm conversation. Well, special occasion calls for special meal. This is when Outback comes in handy. Among the dynamic eateries in Indonesia, Outback is one of those who had stayed faithfully, serving large portion of our favorite meat and ribs dishes. 

It's not the first visit to Outback, and definitely not going to be the last. We even knew Outback before we knew each other.
R: My first visit was probably back when it was first opened in Pondok Indah. My dad is big on steak and Western food, so we'll go there as family.
F: I forgot when was my first visit. It was a long time ago at the Ratu Plaza branch. But I eat at Outback often, especially after visiting the gym.

Well, we might not remember the details of our first Outback visit, but we do remember our favorite meals, and are more than happy to share them with you. It's Christmas after all!

For Appetizer, pick Appetizer Duo (Rp.114,900) which is a sharing portion of two Outback's bestsellers: Kookaburra Wings and Crispy Fried Mushroom. Kookaburra Wings (yes, borrowing the native Australian bird's name) is chicken wings tossed in a savory blend of secret spices which comes with cool creamy Blue Cheese dressing and celery. Choose from mild, medium and hot. Crispy Fried Mushroom is lightly breaded fried mushroom served with spicy ranch dressing. Up for a healthier first bite? Aussie Chicken Cobb Salad (Rp. 124,000) with choices of grilled of crispy chicken, served on a bed of fresh greens, with Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, crispy chopped beef bacon, chopped egg and diced tomato.

Moving on to the main course, Ribeye is the champion. Available in two choices: 8oz (Rp.304,000) and 10oz (Rp. 314,000), this dish is described as "well-marbeled, juicy and savory." In fact, well, it is well-marbeled, juicy and savory. But mostly their food are up to expectation. Baby Back Ribs (Rp.334,900 for 14oz and Rp.182,900 for 7oz) are as satisfying. Succulent, saucy, and each rack is smoked and grilled to perfection in tangy BBQ sauce. Both are served with Aussie Fries. 

What to pair your steak with? Well, we picked the sweet soda drinks of Classic Mojitos (virgin) and Cherry Limeade (Rp. 47.900). Both are actually screaming summer, but remember that Christmas time is summer in Australia, where this franchise came from. So these would be your perfect Christmas brunch drinks.
