Beachlife Weekend at Radisson Bali Legian Camakila Hotel

Ever wonder how is it to live near the beach? Stop wondering and start checking in at Radisson Bali Legian Camakila Hotel. That’s what Fiona did. Read on and take a break from the everlasting Jakarta rain.

Bali’s weather was friendly, at least during my stay there. I can get up and enjoy the warmth of the sun. Enough to received tanning notices from my co-workers (although Ruth was a bit confused -- “did you really tan?”) when I returned to work. Let’s start from the beginning then. Arriving at Radisson Bali Legian Camakila Hotel, 30-minutes away from the airport, a welcome drink was served. The property, which 116 rooms and suites, is within walking distance from popular beaches, hip shopping places and fashionable nightlife.

Then I walked straight to the room a deluxe with access to the pool. Awesome! Huge bed, warm and relaxing furniture made me contemplating about going to the outside, but the sun was just a few steps away. There’s a big window that you can open and walk straight to the pool. Peeking into the bathroom, I honestly love their marble floor tiles.

But first things first. Spa is what you need after a journey, so I started the holiday by walking to Salila spa. Passing the gym through a path surrounded by plants on the way to the treatment room, I was thrilled to open the door and welcomed by the relaxing smell. I ordered a full body massage directly. A comfortable spa, with private bathtub in each room, full body massage lasts for an hour. I fell asleep too. For those looking for a Valentine escapade, staying here could be an option because they have couple room for spa. Feeling recharge afterwards, I asked around and found out that the spa uses local ingredients. No wonder it becomes a favorite.

Don’t know what to order? I would recommend the coconut glow package which includes coconut milk body glow body scrub, yogurt skin conditioning, radiant coconut milk body mask and facial.

Lunch is always special, so I figured taking a midday munch at Tao Beach House would be perfect.  I joined my friends at the red and white accented beach restaurant is equipped with a pool. You can lay down by the pool (I did) as you enjoy your favorite cocktail or juice. Despite their Asian name, their best seller happened to be Pizza (Balinese Style, Meat Lover or Seafood), so you have to give that a try. I ordered one, shared it with friends and it’s yummy. Would love to try their pork dish (Buta Piman Itame, a Japanese style pork dish), but I want to stay on the lighter meal side for the day. So I added Goi Cuan Bo, a Vietnamese Spring Rolls filled with grilled Australian sirloin and veggies to the order. If you feel like it, go up the rooftop bar for an endless view of the ocean.

The pool would be amazing for a wedding ceremony as you can see the Legian beach. Imagine the romance! Talking about beach walk, I went for a walk as the sun rise, through the tunnel access from the hotel. It was a quiet beach and it felt like the whole sandy space were yours to enjoy. Sat by the poolside for your breakfast as Azaa Restaurant served your comfort food of granola and cornflakes, fruits, eggs. Life is suddenly great.

Too good to be true? Well, come by and find out.
